Sometimes a word may sound differently and land you in trouble. Or the other person may get irritated and beat you. Or they may mock you. For example, Rahul AKA Pappu said before previous elections that "Poverty is a state of mind" Poor guy. (Poor in mind, not in money) was misunderstood. What did he say? He said that if you had 100 bn. dollars stashed in Swiss Banks and are penny less in India to prove that you are pure, in fact you will be poor.. Your mind says you are rich but you are really poor, if the money is brought back by Modi. He thought into future and said that. What a misunderstanding of the poor guy, now that NH money is too going?

And sometimes, you may land in trouble. One bearded guy boarded a plane. He was accompanied boy his toddler son. It seemed the boy asked his father when the plane would fly. The father said in love, "Hum plane ko udaa Denge". This was in a foreign land. Unluckily for him, there was a lady who knew Hindi. She thought he was blasting the plane and informed the Captain through the staff. He was arrested, harassed and ultimately they found out the truth that he was only trying to console his toddler son that they would make it fly soon. See the trouble with words. (True incident)

Recently I wrote about Pappu learning three English words in one year, as his teacher was unable to teach him more. As the teacher did not want to return the fee as he was still tolerant about the boy though he was reason for all his intolerance, he taught these words for the fee. "Yes, No, Alright." He asked him to use those words to succeed in life. He got them by heart. One day he was walking on Hyderabad Street where chain snatching happens as frequently as KCR lies. The police man saw this youth near the scene of crime, caught him and asked, "Did you snatch the chain" He said "Yes". The policeman asked in surprise, "Will you return the chain?" He said "No". "Ready to go jail?" The guy said "Alright" . Rest is history that our historians have chronicled.

Likewise if you go to a cinema hall and a friend asks, "Came to a picture?" it irritates you. You may say, "No! I came to a Dentist". That guy may get irritated and beat you in a fit of rage. Writer Naina Sehwal, who is niece of Nehru, but has not got award because of the relationship, immediately blames Modi, calls Barkha who films the fight, runs it for seven days 24x7 until other writers with Alzheimer's, gravely grave, on stretchers, on walking sticks, on ventilators suddenly regain strength and condemn the growing intolerance near Theaters and reading this, film makers who have won awards but have rarely made money may stop biting nails and come for photo op in NDTV. Historians who have chronicled all  scrap and finding no more scrap under Modi, too join the procession to twist facts, scientists who know Marxism more than Science but have won awards may too voice concern and later ask their grandchildren the meaning of intolerance. Why did all this happen? Just because a stray incident happened near the theater. When all these oldies went to the Picture there in were one thousand seven hundred sixty seven violent incidents, three hundred rapes, fifty five item songs where the dancer wore just three inch piece of cloth, They came out and congratulated the film maker, who won an award and pestered him for returning the award in view of growing intolerance near theaters. They later wrote film review that the film was master piece and they never viewed such tolerant movie till then. He too joins the chorus..See! All this happened because one asked a wrong question and the other answered it adamantly. But, it is a national issue now. The two of you belonged to two different communities.

Some words are taboo in some situations. Suppose you ask Sunny Kejri, "Did you have breakfast?" when he is fasting at Jantar Mantar, he may be irritated as truth has come out. He will immediately tweet, "People should be allowed to tell lies. This growing intolerance for truth is creating havoc in Society, so return police to us." This may be picked up by extinct communists and ultra leftists and they may go NDTV studio to return their weapons as token protest and take them back. So be careful with words.

The other day I asked one guy, "When did you return?" Tell me what sin I committed..He got wild. He jumped, hopped, danced, crushed his teeth, hit me thrice on my head with some soft object (luckily) and retorted, "Do you think I am a writer to return award that I got by manipulation? Do you think I am a film maker that has poured venom of intolerance in three generations? Do you think I am a scientist with Marxist leaning and have never done research except on intolerance?  Do you think I am a Historian that twisted history and am biting my toe nails now?  Do you think I am an intellectual whose IQ is Zero? What do you think I am? How dare you say I have returned?"

From that time I stopped using the abusive word, "RETURN" which had become a taboo and I am using "back" "come back' 'go back' etc.

Now it is time to return, sorry, go back to my kitchen work. All are hungry and growing intolerant. Before they too start blaming Modi, I will cook something.

If I remember well, my tryst with politics started as early as 1964 when Jawaharlal Nehru died of heart attack. Who next, was a discussion that raged immediately. I asked my father and he said it would be Indira Gandhi. But as fate had it the tiny looking LB Sastry took over and soon won the hearts of the nation. Our family, like many traditional middle class families, had been staunch Congress supporters and it naturally passed on to me. Fresh from freedom struggle and with no opposition to take on Congress, it had a field day in AP, at least. Communists who gave good fight in early stages (land struggle was a main issue there) lost steam. But Swatantra Party of  Sriaman Rajagopalachary made good impact, with N.G.Ranga in the forefront. But he had a nick name, chameleon. He too lost the game. So, it was free run for Congress in our state till NTR took the political stage. Jan Sangh and later BJP , considered as Brahminical party in the South failed to make any impact in AP areas, as caste politics always ruled the roost. And BJP had no good leader. Venkaiah Naidu shifted to Delhi after he became party president. He never tried at cadre building. In Telangana situation was different due to communal politics of MIM and other outfits. RSS did not grow in AP areas but grew in TG. But the internecine wars between Dattatreya and Ale Narendra killed the party there too. Entry of Vijayaashanthi and her dramatics totally damaged the party. Bangaru Laxman's bribery scandal added to its woes. Over all, BJP is a lame duck in TG and still born in AP.

Despite my Congress leanings, during College days there was lot of clamor for my presence in ABVP, as my joining them would give them more membership and would add color. I joined after my father told me to. But my stint there was limited as I, along with friends, raised a revolt on the authoritarian style of Vekaiah Naidu and walked out of a big jamboree in Vijayawada, went to a picture and stayed in a hotel. My Congress leanings remained intact.

When I joined LIC, I joined BMS, a BJP front as I was allergic to communists. In 1975 I was the only one who supported emergency, as I attended office at 10.00 AM for the first time ever.  I read Kuldip Nair during those days only and reading books on politics has become my passion. I read Shourie, Arun Singh, MJ Akbar, GK Reddy, Batuk Gattani etc.,regularly. My interest in politics grew and much of my talk was revolving around Shakespeare, Milton, Wordsworth etc.,, besides politics. Slowly, I realized the damage being inflicted by the Congress on the nation. Then came Advani's Rath Yatra and my political allegiance shifted to BJP politics. I saw the party as a credible alternative to Congress. Then came the Vaajpayee era, that was frittered away by BJP. Advent of Narendra Modi gave fresh hopes. Added to this, the crooked politics of Sonia and coterie made me totally allergic to Congress.

What is so special about this man who is my contemporary in life, that I pray God daily that the nation should be able to avail his services till he turns 75, as equally as I pray God to save my children from vagaries of life? I sincerely feel, he has that something in him that makes him instantly lovable. His total detachment from material things in the midst of attachment to all things material to him. He never cared what accrued to him, fame, money, possessions et al. Whether he wore a Suit, a Kurta, Pazamaa, a colorful turban or refused to wear a skull cap his thoughts were always on the common man. He has no masks in his personality. He loves the whole humanity, specially suffering Indians, as his clan, kith and kin. After becoming PM he kept his own people away from the glare of public office, as a Yogi of the highest order, as he knows position is transitory. Once, kith and kin start enjoying spoils of office, it is difficult to detach them.

I am not a great man. I know I am ordinary individual. I lost many opportunities that came my way due to arrogance. But there has been and still is one or two qualities in me I can always equate myself with the greatest statesman I ever came across or read about. That is my sense of fearlessness. Once, one of my Technical Officers (I knew he was taking bribes from clients) asked me, "Sir! You always pick up on the senior Executives of the Bank. You use expletives they can not digest. I am hearing from many officers that the Bank is trying to book you. You have no assets, no money to fall back. Make hay when the Sun shines. Some customers are ready to help you." I told him that the day I entered the Bank I kept my left leg out (please read my story in blogs). If they push in, I will come in. If they push out, I will go out. As per money, I depend on my brain and brawn." His prediction came true. But, I withstood the vagaries. Today, I stand as one who never compromises in life, come what may. I like this quality in Modi Jee. Position for him is transitory. Service is permanent. I have adoration for him and Bhakthi for him. Come what may, he does not yield! That is a billion elephants strength to my nation, to my posterity. If he continues, they will be happy for ever! May God bless them.

One more incident happened just before I came out of service. One day, a group of Sardar Jees came to my house to greet me. That was their first visit. My son was playing downstairs. I was in the balcony above. They did not see me. One said, "This must be Manager Sab's house. This boy is replica of Sab." The other said, "He is replica. See his dress. Even the poorest in our community does not wear such rags". They came up. An old Sardar asked me, "Why are your children looking so poor? If you want money, please tell us. You can repay later. It is not good to see your children like that." I told him that I did not want my children to be exposed to the glamour of my position. After I lost my job, he again came and cried copiously and said that had I not this vision, children would have suffered due to  change in my status. Whenever I see Modi Jee I remember this. Despite taunts by Congress and others he kept his family in "as is where is condition" as he knows that the post is his, not theirs and any day he may have to vacate the seat. If only Indira had this statesman's yogic qualities, she would have survived. This is one more reason I adore Modi Jee.

The third quality is his workmanship and his ability to extract maximum work from others without causing pain to them. He works without rest. He said the other day he never took leave. He depends on his own judgment. "Lend thine ear, reserve thy judgment" was Polonius' advice to his son. (Hamlet). He hears all, but he does according to his conscience, to help nation not to help himself. It is a quality you find rarely. Even the Mahatma suffered from hearing bad advice. He went to the extent of handing over the nation to Jinnah.

Modi Jee is dependable. He is a statesman of the rarest breed. He is the hope of the nation. So, I dedicate this 200th blog under the heading "Frankly Speaking" to the great man, Narendra Modi.

All that happened in Bihar was like this. Nitish wanted his broken down car to have a new look. He went to Mulayam workshop. He called Mechanic Lalu and asked him to repair it. "This skill will be useful when you go back to jail" assured Mulayam. Lalu picked a wheel here, a brake there, an accelerator here and a petrol tank there and made it look like a sturdy Mahindra Jeep, painted it and named it Pariwar. Nitish was exalted. He asked Mulayam to occupy the front seat and that he would be in driver's seat. But Mulayam said he had work back  home and asked Lalu to drive and advised Nitish to occupy the  front seat. He told Lalu, "Do not involve Nitish Babu in accident" and he winked at Lalu. Lalu smiled wryly. (Nitish met the Tantrik to know the secret of these gestures only). "Who will occupy the back seat?" asked Nitish. "Why? Our Kanwal Babu is there" Mulayam said. They searched for Kanwal. He waved his hand from his private Helicopter and shouted "Ventilator" . Lalu laughed and said, "bechaara has ASS Pain. Going to doctor". They did not know he was carrying ventilator for Nitish in case he fainted. From nowhere Barkha and AK came and occupied the back seat. Lalu was not pleased. He is a self-made man. If he has to commit accident he has to do it alone. He does not like back seat driving.  Nitish was happy. He was circumspect about Lalu.

The car started. WoW! It started at 120 kmph. Nitish jumped in joy. Soon, it picked up speed. It reached 150. There was no end to the joy of Nitish. "150?" he cried. "Now! You press M button"Barkha guided from back seat. WoW! 180 kmph. "Now, Y button." AK said. It went to 220 kmph. Nitish was shouting for N button. But from back seat, neither Barkha nor AK were allowing him to have a say. The car lost control. It reached 300 kmph.  Nitish cried "Brake. Apply brake."  "Where is the brake? Do you know?" Lalu asked. "No!" Nitish replied. "Do you know?" he asked the back seat drivers. "No!" they replied in panic. "I know!" Lalu said, "It is with Mulayam." And he jumped out of the car. The car hit a tree. All the three lost consciousness. When they woke up, it was Eighth November. Lalu and Mulayam were having Beef Party in Lucknow. Rahul too was there. "For me, zero loss" he was saying in glee.

Around two to three decades back I read one joke in Readers' Digest. A very rich lady buys the latest and costliest model Rolls Royce. She wants to show it to the world. So, she hires a driver, sits in back seat and starts on a freeway. WoW! The car starts at 120 kmph. She was elated. Soon, it races to 150, 180,, 220, 300, 350 kmph. She get panicked. She shouts "Apply brake." "Do you know where the brake is?" driver asks. "No". The car went to 400. He again asks, "Do you know where the brake is?" She says, "No". He says, "I also do not know".

This was how it again happened in Bihar. Originally, Lalu was unwilling to accommodate Rahul's Congress in Maha Ghat Bandhan. In a relationship the "Woh" factor is always intriguing. But, Nitish had further ambitions. "If Bihar is mine, I can conquer India and then the wold." So, he told Lalu, "Beef up! Rahul is too good to be ignored. He wanted to be PM but he is now in AM (Attack Modi) mode. We will use him for that.  We will send him for a week-end with Charlie Rose first. He will do somethings to this youth." So, Rahul went to Aspen and returned. Surprise! He learned many exercises there. He started using them in his mammoth (around 199 people)  public meetings across Bihar.

1. Jumping: He is jumping to conclusions very fast.  Today he said Modi referred him and his mom as "Three Idiots" as he forgot numbers as NDA was losing. (He is not sure who is winning. Certainly not Congress)

2. Climbing walls: His tension in his meetings is enough indication that he is climbing the walls in frustration. With sparse attendance in his meetings, voters went to the wall to see that he was defeated and he hit the wall before the polls were over. Kejriwal was looking bemused as he pushed him to the wall. He is off the wall in his calculations and is now placed  against the wall to be sent scurrying for security.

3. Dragging heels:  He started dragging his heels, when he was originally included in the Ghat Bandhan by Mulayam. Ultimately he accepted reality that to win three seats at least, he required Lalu, the convict on bail.

4. Pushing luck: We know this. He has no cadre, no leader, no grandeur, no past odor.

5.Making mountains out of mole hills: His continuous barbs on Modi about Suit-Boot, about Modi's foreign jaunts in plane as if he walked to foreign shores, eating American Dal (in USA it costs 5 dollars per kg,)  any other inconsequential issues that serve no purpose to common man are proof of this.

6.Bending over backwards: To prove he is a leader. This is the toughest exercise he has to do for next fifty years..

7. Running around in circles:  We know this. He says the same words again and again. The pig tail remains on the back only.

8. Putting his foot in his mouth: For this Charlie was not necessary. He always had and now has and will have his foot in mouth. "Poverty is state of mind" "We ruled 67 years, 67% of Indians are poor" etc., are some famous feet that dropped from his mouth.

9. Going over the edge: We know oftentimes he goes beyond the dirty and awkward.

10. Beating around the Bush: He beats around the bush constantly, does not have acumen, knowledge or wisdom to speak anything coherently. Poor guy is still learning alphabets.

These are all exercises that are not taught in Congress War rooms. So he goes or vanishes on a sabbatical.Only when he jumps into the electoral fray, we know what he is doing. Lalu is happy he is there to pour water on Niitish ambitions, though he initially has opposed him.  For Lalu there are no qualms. Tomorrow, he will say, "Modi Zindabad". If Nitish says it earlier, he cant help but join the chorus. Saving his skin and securing his kin are his priorities.

This was hot it happened in Bihar. Lalu was accompanying Rabri to a poll meeting. Nitish, forgetting that he joined him, shouted as CM, "Hey! You should take him to jail". Rabri nodded her head and went away. Next day, Nitish again found them going on the road. The CM in him shouted loudly. "I asked you to take him to jail yesterday. Why are you on the streets again?" Rabri replied coolly. "I showed him Jail yesterday. Today we are going to CM Bugalow to discuss seat sharing." Then it dawned on Niitish Babu, he tied up with this convict on bail. "All in the game. People are illiterate her. They do not understand". This is the background of his cheating people again with promise of teaching them English."

Courtesy this funny story from UK.

A boy with a monkey on his shoulder was walking down the road when he passed a policeman who said, "Now, now young lad, I think you had better take that monkey to the zoo." The next day, the boy was walking down the road with the monkey on his shoulder again, when he passed the same policeman. The policeman said, "Hey there, I thought I told you to take that money to the zoo!" The boy answered, "I did! Today I'm taking him to the cinema."

The following story has nothing to do with Bihar. But read and laugh as we are going to laugh our way to victory on 8th November. A prelude and a practice.

This is the true story of George Phillips of Meridian, Mississippi, who was going to bed when his wife told him that he'd left the light on in the shed. George opened the door to go turn off the light but saw there were people in the shed in the process of stealing things.
He immediately phoned the police, who asked, "Is someone in your house?" and George said, "No," and explained the situation. Then they explained that all patrols were busy, and that he should simply lock his door and an officer would be there when available.
George said, "Okay," hung up, counted to 30, and phoned the police again.
"Hello, I just called you a few seconds ago because there were people in my shed. Well, you don't have to worry about them now because I've just shot them all."
Then he hung up. Within five minutes three squad cars, an Armed Response unit, and an ambulance showed up. Of course, the police caught the burglars red-handed.
One of the policemen said to George, "I thought you said that you'd shot them!"
George said, "I thought you said there was nobody available!"

“If you know the enemy and know yourself, you need not fear the result of a hundred battles. If you know yourself but not the enemy, for every victory gained you will also suffer a defeat. If you know neither the enemy nor yourself, you will succumb in every battle.”

It is as good to know our own strengths as to know the weaknesses in the enemy camp. Though it is not ultimate war in Indian politically turbulent electoral battles, Bihar holds a special place in the political future of India, as many more states go to polls hereafter and the BJP led NDA has a lot at stake to silence detractors that are out to discredit a democratically elected Government by constant hoary noises both inside and outside Parliament.  An attempt was made to cobble together a loosely knit coalition out of totally torn out pieces of a large canvas of pseudo secular forces. These pieces are many fold.  The totally ruined pieces in the canvas is Indian National congress, wrinkled by old age and trampled upon by diabolic forces during a whole and quarter of a century of its existence. The other pieces want to knit themselves as borders to this piece and the resultant product is at the best, a door mat at the door of dynasty that is struggling for existence in a great country like India and is hiring Private Jets in search of a leased accommodation beyond our borders. The first attempt made in Bihar failed ab initio with the Pradhan Poojari disowning the alliance and the son of dynasty running away to Aspen. There remained two partners, who did not see eye to eye, who suspected fidelity of the other, each one of whom was wary to even name the other and one canvassed in the east and the other in west. One is interested in his ego and the other in his family.

There are many contradictions, there are many  dichotomies in ideologies and the two leaders are like North Pole and South Pole and these two leaders of divergent parties want voters to believe in them and vote for them. Besides these two leaders, there are lot many contradictions that are evident as the campaign progressed. Let us see the spoilers of the party for the party called "Maha Ghat Bandhan".

In my second part of the series I mentioned that it would be difficult at that stage whether Arvind Kejriwal would be an asset or a liability to the alliance. It is now apparent that he is the biggest liability to Nitish, in view of the contradictions this man suffers from. Originally, he was roped in with the hope that Nitish could cash in his support base in Delhi among Bihar migrants. He also hoped that he could use this goodwill in other states like Punjab, Maharashtra etc., Much water passed under the Yamuna bridge since then. With his regular spat with the Centre and Modi in particular and nothing moving under his leadership in Delhi, he gave the issue of "one party at the Centre and State" to BJP on a platter. With other CMs including the Congress CMs not entering into direct confrontation with Modi, except at political level Kejriwal has become an isolated case where he is pouring water on his own food. Voters too think. It is foolish of politicos to think that voters remain glued to their 1947 mindset and they can change colors like chameleons every poll. This made Nitish think twice. He did not only not go after migrants in Delhi, but he also dropped plans to woo them in other states.

Secondly, Kejriwal played it too clever by halves. He says, "You vote to Nitish." He avoids Congress and Lalu. What kind of signal this sends? His appeal is half-hearted.

He advised Nitish to bank upon negative propaganda and Media management. He misread India. In Delhi people have access to Media, Social Media and word of mouth spreads like wild fire. He could create so many false rumors and could get away with them. Bihar is not a small state. Bihar is not Delhi. There are divergent political issues that drive Bihar. Information does not reach people as fast as in Delhi. Nitish left ground level and booth management and depended heavily on the negative propaganda by Media. Fake incidents, small incidents, incidents that never find mention in Media were blown out of proportion. An aura of negativity was sought to be created by which they wanted to create panic in sections of population. This gamble failed as BJP made inroads in the campaign very early and debunked all this negative campaign. Added to this the aggressive posture adopted by Modi in his campaign saw  to it that Kejriwal falls into his own pit taking Nitish with him.

In a nut-shell, Kejriwal turned out to be the biggest spoiler to Nitish. If Nitish went his own way, he would have been in a better position today.

There are two sides to a coin. Likewise, you wonder many times when an overtly happy married couple go to court seeking divorce. Their internal contradictions do not come to the fore until they start arguing in Courts of Law. We wonder. So too, the couple of Lalu and Nitish is in an unnatural alliance. Lalu ruled the state for fifteen years and virtually ruined it. I remember my brother telling me he went without food in Patna as migrants (employees transferred there) were afraid to go out after 7 PM. Reservations in trains were just on paper. No one was daring to ask the illegal occupant of a berth to vacate. Nitish ruled the state in a better way. And he had support of BJP, whose cadres were disciplined and whose approach was development. It is no surprise that Nitish has consulted a Tantrik about aligning with Lalu and he has declared "Lalu Murdabad". But Nitish kept it a guarded secret as he was under Kejri influence (another Maha Tantrik). He aligned with Lalu. From day one, Lalu was concentrating on getting his sons elected. He has no other interest but save his skin and settle his kin. He started playing hide and seek. He saw that Nitish ignored Mulayam. They are, after all, relations. His caste calculations revolved around Yadavs and religious ones on Muslims. He ignored Nitish vote banks.  His aim is to be King or king maker. He lost both and he deprived Nitish both. On November 8th the real face of both these leaders will stand exposed in public when they spat in public and spit on Kejri's face together. It is fait accompli. I remember a few jokes on relationships.

A child asked his father, "How were people born?" So his father said, "Adam and Eve made babies, then their babies became adults and made babies, and so on." The child then went to his mother, asked her the same question and she told him, "We were monkeys then we evolved to become like we are now." The child ran back to his father and said, "You lied to me!" His father replied, "No, your mom was talking about her side of the family."

So, on November 8th, Nitish is going to tell about the temptation of Adam and Eve for the forbidden apple and Lalu is going to tell the Darwin theory of evolution of man from "grass eating" animals. "Kya pharak Hai?" he will ask.

Then read this.

Old farmer Johnson was dying. The family was standing around his bed. With a low voice he sad to his wife: "When I'm dead I want you to marry farmer Jones."
Wife: "No, I can't marry anyone after you."
Johnson: "But I want you to."
Wife: "But why?"
Johnson: "Jones once cheated me in a horse deal"

Got it? So, since Nitish called Lalu's regime Jungle Raj and wrote a big letter condemning him, he allied with Nitish to take revenge on him, just as the farmer wanted revenge on his friend who cheated him, by asking his own wife to marry him. Revenge game has its pit falls.

In a nut-shell Lalu is the second biggest spoiler for Nitish.

Owaisi knows pretty well that chances of his winning more than two to three seats are remote. But why did he gamble as a spoiler of pseudo secular forces? Owaisi family are highly educated. They think future, not just the present. Owaisi knows Congress is dead horse. Betting on it is waste of energy. Joining others, he will have to play second fiddle. He knows that he does not have as much firmer grip on his community as he has been having earlier. In 2014, he had a tough battle on hand in Hyderabad. He knows Modi is picking up fast despite noises by pseudos. Instead of siding the dead horses that are too many, he wants to prove he can act as deterrent to majoritarianism.  He knows Modi's agenda is development.  Most Muslims are getting educated, including girls. Their perception is changing. Religion is slowly but steadily taking a back seat in moderate Muslims. Their numbers are increasing by the day. By 2019, if Modi succeeds, there may be a major paradigm shift in Muslim voting pattern. Politics is like the giant wheel. There may be hawks in other religions who may target his community. He can always stand by them. If that does not happen, he may always say he has stood for development of the community and by not opposing Modi agenda he too has helped in their growth. He retains his share of vote and gains credit as a votary of development of his community with no confrontation. If the reverse happens, he can always say he has been their savior. He played major spoiler in Bihar. He may not win but he is certain to split Muslim vote of MGB. A few thousands in each constituency will help BJP gain at least thirty seats more. Again, Nitish miscalculated the spoiler role of Owaisi, hearing the Tantrik and Maha Tantrik, AK.

Mulayam side stepped for two reasons. He may be knowing Nitish is losing heavily. That will effect his chances in UP. If he is in MGB and loses heavily, Mayawathi will gain ground in UP at his cost. And in between them, BJP will run away with power. So, he has distanced himself from Nitish, despite Lalu being there. He may have been wary of Lalu going to jail soon after Bihar polls.  that will give handle to Mayawati to attack Mulayam. So he played a spoiler role by floating another front. Many pollsters brush him aside. But small drops leaking from Nitish pot will almost empty it by the time polls are over. His front has 2% vote and he can split both Yadav and Muslim vote. By playing Good Samaritan to the Dadri victim family he did exactly this. On the other side, at the instance of Lalu, Nitish totally ignored Sharad. This is used by BJP too drive home the point that Nitish ditches all from JP, Fernadez to Sharad. List is unending. This is going to make youth and educated voters think. A spoiler here.

It is a million dollar question why communists, who polled good percentage of votes in some constituencies earlier, did not join anti-Modi bandwagon. one reason is arrogance of Nitish and their grouse that he suppressed them, in alliance with BJP. Second reason may be Bengal, where Communists are dominant power and they do not want to be seen in company of one who has sided BJP till the other day and with a convict on bail. If they join Lalu, they can not fight Mamata on scams. It is simple logic, they decided to play spoiler for bigger gains and this split too will help BJP in at least ten seats.

Giving forty seats to Congress who has no leaders or cadres is the biggest mistake that Nitish will rue through out. Thirty five seats are handed to NDA on a platter in a golden plate by MGB. No vote will be transferred by Lalu in any of the forty constituencies. and JDU voters will not vote to them since they know Congress never helped the state during past ten years. We can say they are not only spoilers but nemesis of Nitish and Rahul, by returning from Ass Pain, added to his pain.

Before closing the blog read this funny anecdote.

Sam and John were out cutting wood when John cut his arm off. Sam remained calm, wrapped the arm in a plastic bag, and took the arm and John to a surgeon. "You are in luck," said the surgeon. "I am an expert in re-attaching limbs. Come back in four hours when I have completed the operation." So Sam returned in four hours and the surgeon said, "I did it faster than I expected. Jon is down at the pub." Sam rushed down to the pub and was amazed to see John playing darts. A few weeks later, Sam and John were cutting wood again when John accidentally cut off his leg. Sam put the leg in a plastic bag and took it and John back to the same surgeon. "Legs are harder," said the surgeon, "but I'll see what I can do - come back in six hours." Sam returned in six hours and the surgeon said, "I finished early - John's playing football." Sam went to the field and to his surprise found John kicking 50 meter torpedoes. A few weeks later, Sam and John were cutting wood again, when John accidentally cut off his own head. Sam put the head in a plastic bag and took it and the rest of John to the surgeon, confident that the skilful surgeon would do the job. "Gee, heads are really difficult to re-attach," the surgeon muttered, "but I'll see what I can do - come back in 12 hours." Sam returned in 12 hours. "How did it go, Doc?" he asked. "I'm sorry. John died," the surgeon replied. "He suffocated in the plastic bag, you idiot!!"

You may be wondering what this has to do with Bihar. Arvind Kejriwal thought the same medicine applies everywhere. But, Nitish carried the head in a plastic bag, called Lalu. On 8th November, Kejri is going to say that the head died of suffocation. Kejriwal is the best artist in the grand political opera being played by Opposition.. He blames all others except  himself. His time too is nearing.

As I close this blog I hear the NDA did extremely well in the third phase and is going to repeat it in the next two two phases.

(choodu Pinnamma Paadu Pillodu, Paina Paina Paadataatadu)

Marriages are of two types as per our culture. They are arranged marriages and love marriages. Love marriages are like pre-poll alliances. There is no surety the love will last and the marriage will not be lost in divorce. Arranged marriages are like post poll alliances. There is no surety these too will last or there is no guarantee they will break up. Recently a third type of marriage has come to stay and is accepted as legal, though culture vultures like me say they are unnatural. They are gay marriages. In this a man kisses a man. If a third man comes in between, one of these men may say, "Third gay Murdabad", at which the third gay might not take any objection and might even sing,

We are all gay,
Let us remain gay,(happy)
Kiss the other one may,
I do not lose my hay!(grass).

Marriages are made in Heaven, did you hear this? I heard. But some of our politicians proved that they could be made in hell too. In these marriages Tantriks act as High Priests. Groom goes to the Tantrik to request him to preside over his intended marriage with Lailoo (Bride or Groom?) and a 130 year old bride on death-bed out of courtesy and pity. The Tantrik may suddenly love the groom and may not approve his alliance with Lailoo and curse him(er) "Muradabad" and kiss the groom. This is called "Pati, Pati, Patni aur Woh". Hope Gulzar writes script for a picture instead of losing sleep on the non-existent intolerance in the country.

(Some one tweeted Guljar had been the most honorable man like Brutus but he never came out openly when  Majrooh Sultanpuri was jailed by Nehru, Indira jailed all, banned his own film Aandhi, saw that Yamagola a Telugu film was not released, when sterilizations were forced on unwilling people of a community, when Operation Blue Star was perpetuated, when three thousand Sikhs were massacred etc., Leaving all these, this Honorable Brutus never bothered when public money was looted to the tune of lakhs of crores of rupees as as result of which people died of malnutrition, hunger and deprivation and committed suicides. His Honor did not pinch him when Bollywood, of which he had been a part, turned into a haven for black money, criminality by underworld, threats and killings of Bollywood guys by underworld. He did not see it a crime for a senior actor allegedly to run over footpath sleepers and some Bollywood actresses mocked those sleeping on foot paths. It was not intolerance. They are all in the game. A statement by a small time Hindu activist becomes a hate crime and suddenly Judiciary too wakes up to reality. What a hypocrisy?). Sorry I deviated from my humor blog. But, we should call a spade a spade at the appropriate space.

So, this four way love story goes on like this with three gay and the other too grave. I asked Lailoo whether (S)he was not affected by the communal kissing of his(er) groom by the Tantrik. (S)he said, "Tantrik has beard. My groom has beard. As both have beard their hair tips touched each other and hence, due the ubiquitous beards they hone regularly, it is a secular act and instead of jail I prefer hell. So, all is well with me." I asked the "about to die" 130 year old bride. (S)he said, "No issue. I am, however, dying. What I want is some one to tie the knot to me before I reach hell gates. Beard or no beard, communal or secular, I am not bothered."

Marriage is an alliance entered into by a man who can't sleep with the window shut, and a woman who can't sleep with the window open. ~George Bernard Shaw

All said and done, the two main gay partners will remain gay opening and closing the window through the night, resultant effect is there being no productivity. Hence, in the first two attempts, all the invitees to the "gay marriage" absented themselves and the few who came did not gift them anything. But, a perception is sought to be created that all is well, what if gay, what if the Tantrik has not blessed the couple but instead has kissed one of them, the marriage is going to be success. The dead horse has no role, of course.

I heard about the perceived success of the marriage and wanted to talk to the individual would-be partners who wanted to live together. So I first met the Grayoom. (Gay Groom) whom the Tantrik kissed on the cheek in a covert act of affection and called for death to the Gride (Gay Bride). I asked him why he is so down despite a perception created from AC rooms that the marriage would be result oriented and successful.

"Somethings can't be explained" he said. "What is that, that is intriguing your mind? After all, you are Andari (Inside man)." I asked. "Well" he said. "I wanted to milk my communal and casteist cow. So, I fixed an alliance with Lailoo, as (S)he owns a cow herd in his(er) backyard." "It was good! No? Why are you down?" "Somethings cant be explained. (S)he said that Hindus ate beef. So, all Hindus said they won't bless us in marriage. So I went to the Tantrik, to seek a way out." "So?"  I asked.  "Somethings cant be explained. He developed love at first sight on me and kissed me.  So, the regular beef-eaters too said they would not support me. And all the relations of my Gride (Gay Bride) decided not to bless our alliance, as they were upset as the Tantrik called for death to the Gride, as he (the Tantrik) wanted to be my Gride. " But as per Prashanth Jha, Prashanth Kishore and Rahul Kanwal, Barkha Dutt, Sagarika Ghose, Shekhar Gupta, Rajdeep Sardesai etc., you won the perception Gride. And you have a 130 year old bride still." "Bhai! Somethings cant be explained. We kept all Biharis underdeveloped, illiterate and Bahari of Bihar.  Now, time is limited. The 130 year old bride is on ventilator and the Doctor that wanted to treat her went into ass pain." "Do one thing" I told. "After 8th November, you too grow your beard further and become a Tantrik and kiss Lailoo's sons from earlier marriages. That will settle the matter".

From there, I went to the Gride's home. (S)he was playing with his(er) 25 and 30 year old sons from earlier marriages with toys. They are grown but yet to mature. When I went, the following game was going on.

Lailoo kept apples in one basket and told his(er) grandsons (there are many of them) to take only one apple each as "God is watching". In another plate on the table there were lots of cookies. The two sons that Lailoo wanted to groom as heirs, went to the cookie plate and said, "You can take as many cookies as possible, as God is busy watching apples".

"Wah! Lailoo Jee! You trained them from grassroots. They will shine fifty years hence, if they do not land in jail like you". I greeted Lailoo. Lailoo did not recognize me. (S)he was not angry too.  (S)he chuckled and said, "Yes! See! This is Lok Tantrik Vyavastha. I am happy." "BTW", I said, "How about the Woh kissing your Grayoom?"  "Woh to kuch nahin hain. My agenda is clear. My Grayoom called me wild animal and my family Jungle Raj. My revenge is now to take on him. I am not bothered about this Gay Marriage. Let him kiss the Tantrik. The other 130 year old bride is suffering from ass pain. She is retired hurt. Now, let me see how my Grayoom establishes a family." I got wind of his(er) thinking. So, the Media perception, the AC rooms in AK Municipality etc,, the secular cries are all fake. As if (S)he read my feelings, Lailoo said, "This is politics Bhai! He said he would commit political suicide. I said I would help him. I only prodded the Tantrik to kiss him so that his political death would be smooth and my role is forgotten." I rushed to Rahul Kanwal to tell this. But he is busy arranging ventilator to the Grayoom. I returned back.

I was lost in thought that night how an Ahankari secular Neta could allow a Tantrik of a religious cult kiss him. I slept. In the dream truth dawned. This secular neta is, in fact, communal and cult-loving. He faked secularism. Whenever time permitted he was sitting with Tantriks discussing ways to crush Modi. These meetings were regular. One day, Naraada, on his regular visits to troubled areas went there and observed the goings on. He went to Lord Vishnu and complained how this Neta was cheating one community. Lord Vishnu laughed. The next minute the Tantrik kissed the Neta. Narada was flabbergasted. "I thought you would punish him. Instead you offered him a kiss through the Tanttrik." Lord laughed and said, "Yes! now, you see his troubles. How can he tell anyone a male kissed him? And when the truth comes out how can he defend his own gender? He will be crushed by the giant wheels of the Maha Gay Bandhan Bus". And Narada is laughing his way in the EVMs now.

To understand the above fable, read the following fable.

"Once, there was a preacher who was an avid golfer. Every chance he could get, he would be on the golf course swinging away. It was an obsession. One Sunday was a picture-perfect day for golfing. The sun was out, no clouds were in the sky, and the temperature was just right.
The preacher was in a quandary as to what to do, and shortly, the urge to play golf overcame him. He called an assistant to tell him that he was sick and could not do church, packed the car up, and drove three hours to a golf course where no one would recognize him. Happily, he began to play the course.
An angel up above was watching the preacher and was quite perturbed. He went to God and said, "Look at the preacher. He should be punished for what he is doing."
God nodded in agreement. The preacher teed up on the first hole. He swung at the ball, and it sailed effortlessly through the air and landed right in the cup 250 yards away. A picture-perfect hole-in-one. He was amazed and excited.
The angel was a little shocked. He turned to God and said, "I beg your pardon, but I thought you were going to punish him."
God smiled. "Think about it-who can he tell?"

So, the said Neta made a Maha Gay Bandhan, in which he included a jackal from jail on bail and also a 130 year old lady partner that was involved in many Gates and hence, the Bandhan came to be known as "Maha Gayte Bandhan", and the Neta was crushed under its weight.

I wanted to complete the series on Bihar polls with my last blog and declared so. But politics has penetrated my veins. Second phase of polling over, I thought it was time to revive the series. I stand by my analysis that NDA is going to sweep polls and it is going to be one sided whatever Media and doomsayers in our Right Wing too predict on Social Media. Some pointers strengthening my analysis emerged during this period that invigorated my energy; it never sapped, of course. I moved  beyond optimism to euphoria. The opposition naturally is living in Utopia.

When Kejriwal tweeted in a hurry soon after second phase of polling started in Bihar that Modi was losing heavily and that he got reports from Bihar even before EC got any report on the poll, it did not surprise me. I knew that these guys were paranoid as the first phase went NDA way totally and they wanted to create a perception that NDA was losing. Who cares Kejrwal, who is leading a bunch of corrupt elements, four of whom were already jailed and bailed out? Most Biharis in Delhi would go against his advice as he proved a liability on the nation.

I found an interesting quote on opinion polls and the way Media overplays the perception from its view point, rather than the ground realities.

"If the world Series runs until election day, thee networks will run the first one-half inning and project the winner "-Lindsey Nelson.

What a suitable quote in the Indian context? I saw a recent news item. We cant say it is not paid news as observers, but election commission should act on this. The Headline in HT, written by Prashanth Jha, the ubiquitous secular reporter says. "Mahaghaatbandhan wins perception battle". And he goes on saying that MGB could create through pliant media a perception that the first two phases were that of MGB and that all the undecided voters (without taking into account these undecided voters opinion polls made predictions?) would vote MGB and hence, it was again a close contest and NDA was so afraid of the MGB surge that Modi was made to address more meetings. He wrote many more things in the victory of perception. I remembered Duryodhana, who won a perception battle by arraying a larger army than that of Pandavas, with Karna, Drona and the invincible Bhishma on his side he said he won perception battle. But in the real war, one and only warrior Arjuna, with the help of Dharma on his side won the real battle. Hope paid news writers noted this better before writing what their perception was. He was particularly enthused at all the controversies that Media created and their effect on voter mindset. (He gives three hoots to national security, nationalism). He has the least perception that Media penetration in India is very less even in the most developed states. And if that were true no RJD voter would vote to JDU afteer the Video showing a Tantrik whom Niitish met said "Lalu Muradabad" and Nitish ever went on board decrying the Sadhu. Hope media knows better the bitter truth.

And today, TOI reported about a video in which Nitish met a Tantrik who kissed him (Who was gay?) and said Laloo Murdabad. And the same name-sake Prashanth comments that all politicians including Modi meet Tantriks (He did not say any one kissed any one) and that this Laloo Murdabad was not so serious an issue. So far so good. So, Media is trying its level best to keep the morale of MGB high. Why should it do so? As the morale is too low, obviously.  They are losing heavily and are using Media to play a role as in Delhi. Bihar is not Delhi and 4000 villages have no power and for those who have power there is no supply.

And the reporter says that the meager crowds in Nitish, Lalu meetings are indication of their micro management skills. Even at micro level BJP leaders are drawing huge crowds. And yesterday, NDTV tweeted about a meeting Amit Shah addressed. In the news item it is said half the ground was not filled. When Nitish can manage with 1000 people in a meeting, why cant Amit Shah do the same thing? They want to project NDA was losing.

This reflects losers' mentality.

If we recall the Lok Sabha polls in 2014, a lot of smear campaign was run on Modi. Each of his words was twisted out of context. Each move of Advani and Company was used as a weapon to beat Modi with. Be it not accepting Skull Cap, saying if a puppy runs under the car, Advani looking to a side in a moment of involuntary movement, Jaswanth Singh resigning etc., were used by Media to target Modi and he was out. We know the result now. And Congress is not unaware that negative campaign will ultimately benefit the targeted leader. They used this many times using Indira, Rajiv, Sonia et al.  But Congress is a dead horse. There is no hope of revival. It does not call the shots. A criminally convicted leader calls the shots.

This is a kind of self-goaling like self-inking or self-gunning.

Many might not have read much into it. But Congress played a gamble. Just two days before Modi was to inaugurate the AP Capital, Rahul wrote to PM demanding him to declare Special status to AP. Modi did not do that. Not only that, he also skipped announcing special package too. The gamble of Congress was to say that Bihar was ignored though the demand was long pending and if he announced special package that would have been more than to Bihar, they would have gone shopping their achievement and at the same time saying that a BIMARU state was not given as much as a new state, that was smaller in size.. Now that it was not announced, Congress unleashed a spate of agitations .

The funniest part of it all was that Congress was planning to go to the Railway Stations where from
Bihar bound trains would start and tell people of Bihar not to vote to NDA as special status was not given to AP. Very few people from AP have voting rights in Bihar, as it is not destination for migration. Why will Biharis not vote NDA if AP was not given something? Fools' paradise!

This is called Confusion and confounded confusion in one of the MGB parties.

“The media is the right arm of anarchy.”
Media would not have made so much noise without reason. The question any right thinking citizen, excluding ultra leftists, asks is why is the Media making noises in a vacuum though they knew that such noise helped Modi earlier? Are they nincompoops? No. They have a reason. They believe that Modi magic is on the wane. It is their first fault. It is not on the wane but more and more people including traditional Mandal voters started believing that if not for Modi's acumen, nation would have been in embers with the kind of negative propaganda being unleashed. There may be a negative perception on some leaders of BJP but most fortunately RSS has become a national symbol of patriotism even in states where it had no presence earlier. Second guess they make is that if it has helped in Delhi, why does it not help in Bihar? Delhi was a different ball game. In Bihar, it takes a month before news penetrates the remote corners. It is a big state not a big municipality. Media is caught on wrong foot again.

Our Political Institutions work remarkably well. they are designed to clang against each other. The noise in democracy is at work.- Michael Novak

Noises on various fringe issues were made. There was a concerted effort to show that intolerance of majority community was on the rise due to the taking over of a Right Wing Nationalist government at the Centre. How far is is true? Majority of Indians, to whichever religion they belong to, are more tolerant than the intelligentsia that are trying to foment trouble by pitting one community against the other by a sustained campaign of sorts.

“If everything is amplified, we hear nothing.”
― Jon Stewart
In the amplified negative campaign, people stopped hearing what Media says or ignoring them. Many are seeing through their game. Negative campaign and over dependence of MGB on Media boomeranged effectively and their game is over.
It started with Hardik Patel. Support was immediately extended to him by Nitish until he proved a liability. And once Mohan Bhagavat expressed similar sentiments as Hardik, a negative campaign was unleashed. You can observe that Mohan Bhagavat expressed that reservation policy needs a revisit. Hardik said "Give us reservations or cancel reservations". Whose views were more ominous? But Media sees what it wants to see, hears what it wants to hear. All this negative campaign was a result of paranoia in the minds of MGB and Media. Media agenda is to weaken hands of Modi so they can escape punishment for their earlier misdemeanors. Is it not enough to say MGB is facing total rout?

“The bias of the mainstream media is toward sensationalism, conflict, and laziness.”
― Jon Stewart

Then Dadri incident. It was in UP the crime happened. But UP government was not touched. An incident involving Dalits in Haryana, immediately BJP government there was targeted. Is it not indication that the agenda was ominous? Writers return rewards. At 65+ I never heard many names! Who in the country is bothered?. Everyday one old man, whose value to the society was or is nil, except that they write (many others do, but they have no strings to pull) and Media tom toms that so and so has opposed Modi. For these perverted intelligentsia,

"“A single death is a tragedy; a million deaths is a statistic.”

Is this not indication MGB is losing heavily?

Then goes the VK Singh controversy. As of now, during may, 2014 too, whatever any BJP leader said was read beyond lines and a lot of noise was made. They lost the game. Now, they know they are losing it heavily. So all this game of perception.

“All I know is just what I read in the papers, and that's an alibi for my ignorance.” said Will Rogers.

That is the perception Press and Media were carrying in good olden days too. Now, the fourth pillar is rotten. It may collapse any time. Doordarshan was proud to announce that it reached a viewership of 4.5 crores from 43 lakhs earlier. This should send shivers in the spines of Private news Channels.

Diversity in political approach of the three MGB partners is seemingly overt. Today, Congress came in support of Hardik Patel. This is because it has interest in Gujarat. Other parties do not have. Lalu defends UP government while Congress takes on it. Nitish has national ambitions that Congress does not like. Congress does not share views of Lalu and keeps distance. Contrarily, NDA partners have no stakes outside of Bihar. BJP stand will be stable throughout the nation. And BJP is making educated youth voters of Bihar understand these contradictions in MGB views.

I said in my second part that as Bihar elections proceed Shivasena and BJP spat would increase with a view on migrant voters in mind. If SS opposes BJP and BJP opposes SS, votes of migrant families are certain to remain with BJP. The historic reasons for this are many. Nitish lost heavily on this count and SS played its role perfectly.

On the whole, from what Media says and from what Media hides, the nervousness in the three parties of MGB and the total lack of direction to the cadres with regard to the booth management, it is a one sided war with NDA already winning the game,. As Jaitely rightly has said elections are fought in booths and not in Media chat rooms. That way Modi-Shah are masters of the game and there is no looking back in Bihar or after Bihar polls, in other states. Congress Mukth Bharat and truest secular state is on the way.
