Tasty Apetizers


Gobi or Cauliflower is a very soft and tasty vegetable liked world over. Many snacks are mode out of the flower. It is also added as flavor in many dishes. A tasty snack with Gobi.



Gobi Manchurian

Gobi Manchurian is a sweet and spicy snack that is used as a starter before the main course. It is a good apetizer. Especially, in India an oenophile enjoys tasting this dish alongwith wines. It is mouth watering and its sweet and sour taste gives the wine additional flavor. I am trying my level best to present the making of the recipe easily in a language understandable to even a non-regular cooks

To serve five people as starter

Ingredients for Manchurian Sauce and batter



  1. Large Cauliflower, Florets pickeThree Spring onions, Finely chopped whites n greens separately

  2. One teaspoon Ginger, garlic pas1/2 tablespoon Celery, Cho

  3. 1/2 tea spoon Pepper powder

  4. Two Green Chillies

  5. As required for taste Salt

  6. 2 table spoons Oil

  7. 2 cups or as suited Water

  8. 1 tablespoon Soy sauce, I used black

  9. 1 small cup Corn starch, With watet

  10. For batter Manchurian

  11. 1 big cup All purpose flour

  12. 1 small cup Corn flour

  13. 1 tea spoon Ginger garlic past

  14. 2 tea spoons Soy sauce, I used black sauce

  15. 1 tea spoon Black pepper powder

  16. 1 cup Water

  17. Required Oil

  18. For taste Salt

Preparation of Gobi Manchurian

  1. To prepare Cauliflower florets first clean the flower and cut it into medium sized or big florets. See it does not become powder. Keep the floerts in salted, boiled water for 4 minutes. Drain and dry the florets.
  2. To make batter mix the ingredients like folurs, sauce, chilli powder, turmeric (optional) pepper, salt as thich batter. Add a pinch azinomoto. Dip the florets one by one and fry in boild oil. Keep the fried florets on a tissue paper. Keep a little oil in the pan after removing extra oil.
  3. On the florets garnish celery, keep three lemon pieces and a Tomato cut into slices. Garnish the chopped green spring onions on the florets. Serve hot with Chapathis or take as starters. They taste sweet and sour.
